Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Retail

This course is validated on the LSC Learning Aims Database number 00285725.

This course is intended for those who retail food and food products, especially:

• Those foods that are not always packaged.
• Any food that is held and served hot eg burgers, hot sandwiches, savoury rolls.
• Any food that is held and served frozen or refrigerated eg ice-cream.

This level 2 award links directly, live and on-line with the awarding body EDI (Education Development International) who have bought ASET, the previous certification body.

Food Safety Course Content

The learning for the award is contained in 5 lessons, normally taking about 2 - 2 ½ hours, but is at the speed of the user.

• Lesson 1 – The importance of food safety
• Lesson 2 – Personal hygiene
• Lesson 3 – safe cleaning and the use of chemicals
• Lesson 4 – Food safety hazards
• Lesson 5 – Temperature control and safe food storage

The on-line test comprises 30 multi-choice questions and candidates answering 20 correctly will be able to print out the certificate from their own pc.
