Level 3 Award in HACCP for Catering
Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 states that "those responsible for the development and maintenance of the procedure referred to in Article 5(1) of this Regulation, or for the operation of relevant guides, have received adequate training in the application of the HACCP principles"
The Learning element of this HACCP Award is in the form of a comprehensive e-book. It is clearly set out on the screen for the learner to follow at their own pace, taking their time to go back and forth until they are happy that they understand the principles of HACCP.
This Level 3 Award in HACCP is written to enable the trainee to understand the principles of HACCP and to transfer that knowledge to their own work environment. The Award will allow the trainee to be flexible, and aims to help the trainee to fully understand the principles of HACCP. In addition to this, the Award will also inform the trainee of the role of the supervisors, managers and owners when constructing a HACCP Plan.
Who should complete this Level 3 Award?
- Hotel restaurant supervisors and managers.
- Senior staff responsible for producing meals in schools, hospitals, colleges and residential homes.
- Senior staff involved in contract catering.
- Head chefs and cooks
- Owners of restaurants, cafes, mobile units and other catering outlets.
- Supervisors and Managers in the Food Industry.
Understanding and writing a HACCP Plan is not an easy task. This Award is written in the form of an e-book, available online for you to study in your own time. Once you are ready to take the assessment you may do so.
Upon Completing the Course - The Examination
There is an end assessment which consists of 60 multiple choice questions. These are selected at random from a bank of 90 questions. Successful candidates who answer 75% of the questions correctly, (45 out of 60), will then be able to print their CPD Certificate directly from their PC's.
Obtaining an Embossed 'Hard Copy' Certificate
For those who would like to receive an embossed hard copy certificate via post free of charge, should contact the office after they have completed the course. For audit purposes, we will then ask the candidate a few questions on their experience of taking the course.
Certification
This Level 3 Award in HACCP for Catering has being certified by the CPD, (Continuing Professional Development). In addition to this all of our courses follow the same syllabus as the CIEH, (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health).

Do you work in the Manufacturing or Retail Sector?
Although the examples given in this course are based on the Catering Industry, the principles and procedures of HACCP remain the same for Manufacturing and Retail. Pricing and Further Information
The cost of this course is £125.00 + VAT per person, per course. If you should fail the course, you may re-sit the examination for a fee of £25.00 + VAT.
The duration of the course is very flexible, you can complete the learning at your own speed and thoroughly learn about HACCP in the Catering. After all, everybody has different learning styles. Upon registering for the course, the candidate will have a total of 12 months to complete the course and assessment.
