Level 3 Award in HACCP (CIEH)

In 2006 HACCP legislation was introduced into the UK.

Since then, it has been a legal requirement for every UK food business to put in place and maintain a food safety management system based on HACCP principles.

Depending on the size of the company, at least one person needs to understand the principles of HACCP in order to be able to gather together and construct a HACCP plan. In larger companies a HACCP team will be nominated, and all members of the team will need to understand HACCP in order to construct and/or follow the HACCP plan.

HACCP Training Courses

Food business owners and managers can comply with the legal requirement by following a recognised HACCP training course that will equip them to develop and operate HACCP plans appropriate to their food operations.

Candidates for this qualification should have already achieved at least a pass at level 3 food safety course or be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of food safety issues.
